Welcome to our world!

My chinese name is Yin Ling and baby Minori's unofficial middle name is Yen. Both Yin and Yen mean swallow (as in the bird) in chinese. The same swallows that migrate to Malaysia in winter to escape the cold return to Japan when the weather begins to warm up. Like the swallows here, together with daddy, we make our trips between the two countries. Isn't it nice to have two places we can call home?

Mongolians rule sumo

Zabutons (the flat pillows that Japanese folks sit on) flew yesterday! Spectators throw their zabutons up into the air when the yokozuna (grand-champion of sumo) is defeated in a bout. I think it's the second time Hakuho beat yokozuna Asashoryu. I still believe, as I did 2 years ago, that Hakuho is yokozuna material. Way to go!

10 months ago, watching sumo helped me through my killer contractions and my water broke right at Hakuho's bout!

Yah! But there's always a next time... Hakuho is still young.
